keeping the calories down

I just read a list of "super foods". It is an all inclusive list of foods that you should try to consume each day. That is a choice from each group, each day.
One person's comment was "I eat all of these foods, everyday. Why am I still fat?"
What?
What part of a choice from each group doesn't make sense. All things in moderation.
